Missing Character Alert

Have you ever been in the middle of writing something and then -poof- the inspiration disappears? Yeah. Me too. Right now I am so frustrated with it, it's like the characters in my head have decided to ignore my pleas for help. Thousands of words, countless hours of staring at my pad of paper in frustration. The book I have been writing recently has been one of the main focal points in my life since I was sixteen, now that I am on the verge of my twenty-first birthday I am so beyond ready to be done with this project so that I can finish one of the other 36,000 books I have started to write in the past five years. 

I have so many characters in this project in particular that it seems ridiculous to me that none of them are "speaking" to me, I am at an impasse. I am so beyond stuck that it isn't even conceivable to me. According to the internet (Pinterest) free writing is supposed to help writers block, which may be true for some, but it has only caused me to start new projects. Another thing I am supposed to try is to work on it for two hours a day, but what does that help with no inspiration? Staring at a blank screen, tearing my hair from my scalp, these things aren't very helpful. Nothing is seeming to work, at least not yet. 

Hopefully upon finishing this little post, I will be struck with a hypothetical branch of inspiration. But alas, I cannot give up. So wish me luck.
